A multinational dermocosmetics company sought to influence clinical practice in Latin America for acne treatment. Existing guidelines were largely adaptations of European and North American consensus, lacking a regional focus.
SPRIM PRO identified eight leading acne management professionals across Latin America. These experts who are distinguished academicians and healthcare providers formed the basis for a collaborative consensus-building process.
Strategic Approach to Consensus:
The resulting consensus document entitled, “Acne treatment challenges – Recommendations of Latin American expert consensus,” was published in Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia from the Brazilian Society of Dermatology. Our findings revealed that diversity and emerging generational shifts have changed the landscape for patient needs for acne. With this novel consensus, healthcare professionals across the region, can provide improved care for acne patients.
